+ What are eyelash extensions made of?
At Essentials of the Earth we provide 2 of the most popular types of eyelash extensions, namely silk & synthetic mink. All extensions come in different lengths, thicknesses and curls.
Silk lashes are similar in nature to human hair encompassing a natural feel while providing a subtler look.
Synthetic mink lashes are shinier, stiffer and offer more enhancement.

+ What can I expect during my lash essentials treatment?
Your custom lash application treatment begins with a consultation to determine the application for Essentially U.
A lash bath to cleanse, disinfect and prepare your lashes for primer to increase retention while protecting the health of your natural lashes.
Bright and beautiful eye patches loaded with collagen Q-10 and vitamins provide you with an under eye treatment giving a revitalizing effect, softening lines and wrinkles during your treatment while protecting your delicate skin area around the eye area.
Lash application is completed with seal and shine eyelash extension sealant to protect against humidty and oils that cause early adhesive breakdown and lash loss. Seal and shine is available in black or clear to give a subtle sheen to your finished look.
+ How are extensions applied?
Using a formaldehyde-free, medical-grade adhesive Essentials of the Earth lash artist will apply a single faux eyelash, or volume if you are going for a really bold look, to each of your natural healthy eyelashes.
Depending on the look and health of your natural lashes you can expect it to take between 2-4 hours to apply a new set, your eyes will be closed the entire application time. The process should not feel painfull - if however you do experience discomfort, speak up and advise your lash artist right away. We are trained to deal with potential issues such as allergic reactions.
+ How long will my extensions last?
Eyelash extensions shed with your natural lashes which typically occurs every 45-65 days. The average person can expect to shed 7-10 lashes per week.
Well cared for eyelash extensions in optimal environment can last and require lash fills every 4-5 weeks.
+ How do I care for my set of eyelash extensions?
You will receive a detailed after care instruction sheet following your treatment. Here are some essential care guidelines to keep on hand:
For best retention and lasting results ensure that the adhesive sets properly by avoiding getting your lashes wet for 48 hours after application.
Try best to sleep on your back or side - when lashes rub against your sheet or pillow they may become tangled or shed prematurely.
Although the temptation is great, your encouraged to not touch, tug or pull on your lashes.
Eyelash extensions are water resistant, however, avoid saunas, steam rooms and hot yoga classes - extreme heat can weaken the adhesive.
Essentials of the Earth reccomends refraining from oil based products or creams as this too can weaken the adhesive. We encourage the use of our premium after care retail products available for purchase in spa to enhance your lash care routine.
